This multi-functional "front door" to campus contains a Great Hall complete with fireplace, comfortable seating area, and exhibits chronicling Wheaton's past, present, and future.

SILVIO VAZQUEZ, CHIEF ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT OFFICER

"From my office in the College’s magnificent new Welcome Center, I think a lot about how we can best welcome students and families from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Our focus is rightly placed on identifying gifted, mission-compatible students who represent the rich mosaic of the body of Christ. Our call as admissions and financial aid professionals is to walk alongside these young students and their families as they navigate the college search process, recognizing that we have an obligation to help advance our mission by creating pathways for future generations to be prepared to do kingdom work.”

Take a tour of the Welcome Center's Great Hall

The east wall (left) includes a mural montage of campus buildings and monitors featuring four short films and still images highlighting College profile and rankings information. The west wall (right) includes a monitor with rotating information on Wheaton’s eight presidents and a display of historical facts and artifacts. The center of the hall has ample seating room, a LEGO® model of campus designed and created by Paul Vermeesch ’18, and a fireplace complete with the Presidential Seal in two-tone relief over the limestone mantle.

“The new Welcome Center is beautiful, welcoming, and educational. It’s a great improvement over climbing to the second floor above the bookstore! During our ‘field trip’ from Windsor Park Retirement Community in Carol Stream, Illinois, we watched a wonderful video and were treated like royalty.”
