I want to express my deep gratitude for the financial support and aid you have provided me for this school year. Without your generosity, it would be very difficult for me to complete my senior year here at Wheaton College. Over the past three years, Wheaton College has been fundamental to my development as a young woman of Christ.
I grew up as a missionary kid in China for the first ten years of my life. My parents are both from South Korea but moved to the States when they were in high school/college so that they could provide better opportunities for their future family. I have two sisters, Irene (24) and Laura (19). When I was ten, we moved back to the States and my parents and little sister are currently residing in Southern California. My dad lost his job this past summer and my mom stays at home looking after Laura, who is unable to walk after surviving extensive surgery and treatment for her brain cancer. During this time while both my parents are unemployed, my endowed scholarship has truly been a blessing from God.
Currently, I am studying biochemistry with a minor in math. I am in the process of applying for a position with Teach for America (TFA), an organization that strives to bring equal education to underprivileged and underfunded neighborhoods. TFA is a two-year commitment and if I am able to serve, I plan to apply for pharmacy school shortly after.
Thank you once again for making this year a reality for me, financially.
Sincerely,
