At the White House on September 13, Dr. Jamie Aten, the Arthur P. Rech and Mrs. Jean May Rech associate professor of psychology and founder/co-director fo the Humanitarian Disaster Institute (HDI), was awarded the 2016 Community Preparedness Champions Award by FEMA for his outstanding efforts to prepare communities for disaster response.
