When Allison Althoff Steinke ’11 began as Wheaton magazine’s editor in January 2014, I was awaiting acceptance into the master’s program in History of Christianity at Wheaton College Graduate School. Even after having already established a career as an editor, I had longed to return to school and pursue my interests in history. 

I’m drawn to the magazine now for similar reasons that I was drawn to my studies then. I am interested in thinking deeply about the past, considering stories of how people have believed and how they have lived as a result. Now I have the opportunity of curating such stories of the past and the present with an eye on the future for Wheaton. This is what has brought me back to my alma mater.

It’s an honor to serve you by carrying on this award-winning magazine’s tradition of excellence, fostered for 20 years by its two previous editors.
