Getting Together Salt Lake City

Alumni gathered at the 2015 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Conference in Salt Lake City. ACDA National President Dr. Mary Hopper ’73 was the conference chair, two Wheaton students competed in the undergraduate student conducting competition (Jonathan Cramer ’15 as a semifinalist, and Margaret Winchell ’15 as a finalist), Dr. John Nelson ’63, D.Mus. ’89 taught a lecture and a master class, Sylvia McNair ’78 performed, all of Wheaton’s Honor Choir singers participated, and Wheaties gathered in the Presidential Suite one evening. Getting Together Dominican Republic and Haiti 

Alumni visited villages in the Dominican Republic’s eastern regions and in the rural mountains of Haiti as part of a leader visioning trip sponsored by Food for the Hungry (FH) in the Dominican Republic and Haiti with an eye of discerning sites for future mission teams to go and work with FH and local community development leadership. Getting Together Houghton, New York 

Alumni gather at a high school graduation party for the grandson of Ron Webb ’64. Ellis Brotzman ’64 and Webb had not seen one another since college days. Brotzman, Doug Burke ’53, and Bob Danner ’60 live in Houghton, where Doug Burke ’53 served for many years as the Houghton College Men’s Soccer Coach and Danner is the retired Vice President for Student Life at Houghton College. Brotzman recently moved to Houghton from The Netherlands where he served as an Old Testament Professor with Tyndale Seminary. Webb lives in the greater Harrisburg, PA area where he recently retired as head of the Business Department at Messiah College and continues to teach in the MBA program at Penn State.
